Lapa Lange Game Lodge
Lapa Lange is a thatched game lodge in the Hardap Region, three hundred kilometres south of Windhoek on the M29 near Mariental. That distance makes it a practical first or last night on a Namibian circuit — a day's drive from the capital and a useful staging point for routes heading north toward Etosha or west toward the coast.
The lodge holds twenty-seven rooms across several categories: family chalets with two bedrooms and a private braai area, arranged around the waterhole; an Executive Villa with its own jacuzzi, kitchenette and lounge; Luxury and Superior Suites; and four glamping tents, each with an en-suite bathroom and air conditioning. All accommodation includes breakfast.
The floodlit waterhole anchors the property. Over thirty species of game drink at it, and the main buildings — reception, restaurant, bar and lounge — all face it. The reserve carries no large predators, which means self-guided walks run alongside guided game drives and a Bushman Walk through Kalahari vegetation including hoodia and other succulents. A cheetah encounter run on site allows close access to cheetahs for photography.
The restaurant serves buffet meals built around venison and local produce, with à la carte available on request. Groups of ten or more can book the boma for an open-fire braai. The 360 Spa sits beside a koi pond and offers massage, manicure and pedicure treatments. A curio shop stocks handmade items from Nama and San craftspeople.
The lodge is malaria-free and has secure parking, conference facilities and a swimming pool.
