Las Olas Beach Resort

Air drawn off the Pacific carries the scent of salt and turned soil across a 4,500-acre working finca agroturística in western Panama, 25 minutes from Enrique Malek International Airport near David. Las Olas Beach Resort occupies 14 kilometres of beachfront within the finca, a family-owned holding that shelters mangrove forest, trails, and populations of howler monkeys and migratory birds. Rooms and suites face the ocean. Each contains air conditioning, a safe, Wi-Fi, bottled water, and either a private terrace or balcony. Standard rooms hold one king bed or two queens. The two-level Oceanfront Master Suite spans two bedrooms across two floors — one king, two queens — and opens onto a pair of balconies at different elevations. Selected suites add a kitchenette, dining table, and separate lounge.

La Abigail restaurant sources vegetables, fruit, and protein from the finca and serves breakfast and dinner. Two bars operate on-site. A pool, spa offering massage, and a gym with free weights and benches under open-air cover occupy separate pavilions. Tennis courts lie within the grounds. The concierge arranges guided hikes through the mangrove estuaries, kayaking, horseback rides along the beach and interior trails, and seasonal whale-watching excursions offshore. The town of Alanje sits inland; Costa Rica's border lies to the west. A convention centre on the property accommodates groups and events.
