Leeu Estates

Leeu Estates occupies 78 hectares of vineyard, landscaped garden and fynbos in the Franschhoek valley, positioned between the Dassenberg Mountain and the river, a short drive from the village. The twenty-four rooms and suites are distributed between a refurbished 19th-century Manor House — which holds six rooms — two rooms directly adjacent to it, and a series of freestanding cottages set among oak trees and vines: Cellar Cottage, housed in the original cellar; Max House, a Cape Dutch gabled building with a courtyard; Protea House, above one of the estate's earthen dams; and Vineyard, Terroir, and Fynbosch Cottages, among others. Room sizes run from around 42 square metres in the Classic category up to 115 square metres in the Manor House Suite, which has its own hot tub, fire pit, telescope, and private sculptures including a piece by Guy du Toit.

Two restaurants operate on the property: The Dining Room, serving all-day and à la carte menus built on seasonal produce, and La Petite Colombe, a fine-dining restaurant run by the La Colombe team from Constantia. In-house guests receive a complimentary tasting at the Wine Studio, run by Mullineux and Leeu Family Wines, whose vineyards surround the property. Leeu Spa by Healing Earth has four treatment rooms, separate steam rooms, and a plunge pool beside a lily pond. River, mountain, and vineyard walking trails run through the gardens. Breakfast is included in the rate.
