Set among the granite kopjes of the Wogakuria Hills, Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge looks out over rolling grassland and open woodland in the northern Serengeti. The Mara River runs nearby, on the park's border with Kenya's Maasai Mara, placing the lodge inside the migration corridor that the wildebeest cross between July and October. It is a landscape that holds game year-round, not only in migration season.
Fifteen glass-fronted suites are built into the boulders for privacy, each with a plunge pool and an open deck facing the plains. One suite has two bedrooms, suited to families or friends travelling together. Bathrooms carry a freestanding bath alongside an outdoor shower. Public areas sit under the same rock formations: a bar, lounge, and dining room open onto views across the grassland, with a swimming pool set on a sundeck nearby.
Guides lead game drives in 4x4 vehicles, tracking the resident wildlife and, in season, the crossing herds. Afternoon tea precedes the evening drive, and sundowners are taken on a kopje with the Isuria Escarpment visible in the distance. The Melengali Spa occupies a separate tent for massages and treatments. Kogatende airstrip is a 45-minute drive away. Check-in runs from 12:30pm.
