There are currently around 55 lions on Mugie Conservancy with four identified prides and two dispersal groups. Research on predators in the area has seen three females and one male collared, in order to monitor the pride’s movements and better understand where interactions occur, that can lead to human-wildlife conflict.
Guests can head out with our very own guide and tracking equipment to look for the collared lions and learn about the use of this technology assists the conservancy in aiding pastoralists and wildlife to live alongside each other. Please note, the uneven topography dense bush in some areas means that tracking can be challenging and although you may pick up their signal, you might not necessarily find them.
