The Tswalu Foundation exists to support ecological research across the reserve, building a body of work on the fauna, flora and habitat of the southern Kalahari. Findings inform conservation management decisions on-site and are shared freely with neighbouring landowners, helping them care for their own land with the long-term interests of the region's wildlife and people in mind. Guests staying at Loapi can meet researchers studying both well-known and lesser-known species, and see conservation science under way rather than read about it afterwards.
