Lokuthula Lodges

Lokuthula — the word means 'place of peace' in isiNdebele — is a group of thirty-one thatched lodges set in gardens on the edge of Zambezi National Park in Victoria Falls. There are no fences between the grounds and the park, so warthog, bushbuck, and monkey move through regularly, and the waterhole nearby draws buffalo, elephant, and hyena as well as a wide range of birds. You can watch all of this from your private terrace.

The lodges come in two- and three-bedroom configurations. The two-bedroom version has a double room downstairs with air-conditioning, and a twin loft upstairs with a ceiling fan and an open window facing the bush. The three-bedroom adds a second twin room downstairs, a second bathroom, and an en-suite to the main bedroom. Both layouts include a fully equipped kitchen, a lounge with two convertible sofa beds, and a braai area on the terrace. You book either on a self-catering or bed and breakfast basis; B&B guests take breakfast at The Boma Café on the same estate.

The estate also holds MaKuwa-Kuwa Restaurant, the Buffalo Bar, and The Boma — Dinner and Drum Show, which books up quickly and is worth reserving in advance. A swimming pool, paddling pool, children's playground with trampoline, and a pickleball court are available to all guests. Complimentary shuttles run to the town centre and to the Falls.
