Game drives

Game drives run by day or after dark in open-top Toyota Land Cruisers, each seat positioned by a window for an unobstructed, all-round view. Guides work from Luangwa River Camp's location just outside South Luangwa National Park, reached by a short boat crossing that bypasses the busier park entrances and puts guests into prime wildlife country quickly. The park holds elephant, buffalo, hippo, giraffe, lion and leopard, plus healthy numbers of puku and impala. Night drives extend the search to nocturnal hunters such as hyena and the smaller predators, serval and civet, that daylight rarely reveals.
