LUX* Grand Baie, Mauritius
Part of Phasec create
LUX* Grand Baie sits on the northern coast of Mauritius, directly on the lagoon at Grand Baie. The one hundred and sixty-nine rooms range from sixty-five-square-metre junior suites to a three-bedroom pool penthouse of three hundred and twenty-five square metres, reached from the main building by a skywalk. The interiors were designed by Kelly Hoppen, working with JFA Architects; terrazzo bathrooms, standalone bathtubs, king-size beds, and smart room controls appear across the categories. The largest option, the Grand Beach Pool Villa, covers over six hundred and twenty square metres and includes three en-suite bedrooms, a kitchen, a heated swimming pool, an outdoor tropical shower, a sun deck, a gazebo, a barbecue, and a private butler.
On the water, the hotel provides complimentary windsurfing, kayaking, snorkelling, stand-up paddleboarding, sailing, pedal boats, and a glass-bottom boat. Scuba diving, big-game fishing, catamaran cruises, and swimming with dolphins are available at an additional cost. On land, the floodlit tennis court, gym, beach volleyball, table tennis, and yoga are all included.
Three dining options cover the day: Le Badamier serves dishes drawn from Chinese, Creole, and French traditions, built around an old badamier tree in the tropical garden. A wood-fired pizzeria operates at midday. La Terasse is an open-sided bar and beach service point under a thatched roof, facing the lagoon. A spa, a children's club, and a library are also on site. Staff speak English, French, German, and Italian.
