Madagascar Underground

Set in a quiet street in central Antananarivo, Madagascar Underground is a backpacker hostel with nineteen beds divided among two dormitories, three private rooms, and bungalows. The male dormitory holds nine single beds in three tiers; the female dormitory holds six. Each bed comes with clean linen, a towel, and a secure locker. Three private rooms occupy the main building: the Ensuite Room has a double bed, desk, sofa, and private bathroom; the Bleue and the Rose each have a double bed, individual key, and shared facilities. Bungalows stand separately and include a double bed, private bathroom, and lockable door.

A Mexican restaurant serves local dishes alongside tacos and quesadillas; breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available daily. The lounge bar rotates a weekly signature cocktail and stocks local spirits and soft drinks. Two terraces, a multi-purpose room with cinema and karaoke equipment, and a reading corner occupy the ground floor and rooftop. A communal kitchen is open to all guests. Staff provide route advice and can arrange private transport. Supermarkets and ATMs sit within walking distance. The hostel permits animals under specified conditions. Check-out is before eleven; there is no curfew. Payment is accepted in cash, mobile money, or credit card.
