Mandapa sits in a river valley outside Ubud, where rice paddies and jungle slope down to the Ayung River — Bali's longest waterway. The property holds sixty rooms in total: thirty-five suites and twenty-five private pool villas, each designed by Jeffrey Wilkes using sustainable materials that draw from the surrounding landscape. Every guest is assigned a Patih, a dedicated butler who manages the stay from arrival to departure.

Four dining venues work across different registers. Kubu operates on a zero-waste philosophy, sourcing ingredients from within one hundred kilometres; Chef Eka's kitchen turns that local produce into a full tasting menu. Sawah Terrace serves heritage dishes from across the Indonesian archipelago — Lawar Klungah, Babi Upih, Cendol Dawet — beside the river, with Balinese dance performances in the evenings. Ambar, a bar set on a cliff above the valley, offers cocktails, Japanese fusion food, and live jazz at sunset. In-villa dining runs around the clock.

The spa runs programmes built around six wellness pillars, with yoga held in a river-facing pavilion or on platforms set into the rice fields. Cultural activities include temple blessings, guided walks through the paddies, and river rituals led by local practitioners. A children's programme called Mandapa Camp runs alongside adult activities. The property also leads regular clean-ups of the Ayung River with the surrounding community.

Bali's international airport is approximately thirty-five kilometres away. The property does not run a shuttle; airport transfers can be arranged through the hotel.
