Manjarano Lodge & Spa
Manjarano Lodge & Spa sits inside the forest at Andasibe, in the Alaotra-Mangoro region of eastern Madagascar — a part of the country where the surrounding woodland holds some of the island's most visited wildlife, including the indri, the largest living lemur. The lodge itself is a four-star property built around one- and two-bedroom bungalows, each with a private terrace, comfortable bedrooms, a seating area, and a fully equipped bathroom. Rooms come with flat-screen televisions, minibars, and in-room safes. Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, and room service and laundry are on offer.
For meals, the Alocasia Restaurant serves on site. Beside it, a lounge bar with a billiards table handles drinks and aperitifs. Beyond eating and drinking, the property runs a nine-hole golf course and a swimming pool. The spa adds a hammam, a sauna, and a Jacuzzi — useful after a morning walk in the forest, which begins at the edge of the property.
Andasibe is roughly a three-hour drive east of Antananarivo on the RN2, the main road to Toamasina, making the lodge accessible as both a dedicated destination and a stop on a longer eastern circuit.
