Mantis Akagera Game Lodge

Mantis Akagera Game Lodge occupies a hillside position at the southern end of Akagera National Park, with views down over Lake Ihema — the second-largest lake in Rwanda. The park is Rwanda's only Big Five reserve: lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhino share the landscape with giraffes, zebras, hippos, and crocodiles. The park's habitats — lakes, marshes, savannah, woodland, and mountain terrain — form the largest protected wetland complex in central Africa, and they support nearly five hundred recorded bird species. Guides look for the Shoebill stork, the endangered Papyrus Gonolek, and the Red-faced Barbet.

The lodge has sixty rooms across two main tiers. Twenty-seven standard rooms are at ground level; twenty-nine balcony rooms sit on the upper floor, each with a deck facing the park. A Balcony Suite adds a lounge area. The Presidential Suite has two bedrooms, a private patio, a fully fitted kitchen, and a dining room that seats ten. Family Suites provide three bedrooms and an open-plan lounge with kitchenette.

The Inzovu Restaurant uses locally sourced and onsite-grown ingredients to prepare dishes from the region, with park views from the terrace. The pool deck looks out over the same hillside. Game drives go into the park; boat safaris run on Lake Ihema. The lodge also has a conference centre, a children's club, and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout.
