Swirling Maasai motifs in rust and ochre decorate the walls of each room, mirroring the colours of the surrounding savannah. Mara Serena Safari Lodge sits on a ridge high above the Mara River, the only lodge within the Mara Triangle section of Kenya's Masai Mara National Reserve. The design follows the circular plan of a traditional Maasai manyatta, with 74 rooms arranged to face the river and plains below. Each room includes marble bathrooms with walk-in showers, king-size or twin beds under mosquito nets, and private balconies. Eight sets interconnect for families. The suite adds a separate sitting room, bathtub, and two balconies overlooking the river.

The lodge runs entirely on solar power installed in 2019. Rangers lead game drives at dawn and after dark into the reserve; routes follow no set schedule. Walking safaris with Maasai guides cross the Ololoolo Escarpment, which rises 400 metres along the Triangle's western edge. Hot-air balloon flights lift before sunrise, and breakfasts beside the hippo pool on the riverbank follow early-morning drives. Bush dinners unfold at tables set on the plains, with chefs grilling over open flames. Sundowners take place on Lookout Hill with views across the savannah as light fades. The Maisha Spa overlooks the plains and offers steam rooms, sauna, and treatments using Elemis products or local botanicals. A rock-enclosed heated pool sits beside the main lodge, and a Maasai market operates at the property on Thursdays and Saturdays.
