Miraflores Park, A Belmond Hotel, Lima

Miraflores Park sits on the cliff edge of Lima's Miraflores district, directly above the Pacific Ocean. The building is a glass-and-white tower that rises above the palms lining the coastal parks — a six-mile stretch of parkland and boardwalks runs along the base of the cliff below. The hotel opened in 1996 and holds eighty-seven rooms and suites across several categories: Junior Suites with marble bathrooms and sitting areas, Deluxe Junior Suites with a sauna in the bathroom, the Terrace One Bedroom Suite with a king bedroom, separate living and dining area, and a city-view balcony, and two Signature Suites of one hundred and fifty square metres each, with a private terrace and plunge pool.

The two main restaurants sit at opposite ends of the building. Tragaluz on the ground floor serves modern Peruvian food and has become a regular table for Lima residents. The Observatory restaurant is on the roof beside the heated pool, with open views over the ocean. The Belo Bar serves cocktails and local spirits.

The Zest Spa uses organic products sourced from the Peruvian Amazon and offers body treatments and facials. A fitness centre is also on site. Five event spaces accommodate up to two hundred and fifty people.

Barranco, the arts and nightlife neighbourhood, is a fifteen-minute walk south along the coastal path. Jorge Chávez International Airport is a forty-five-minute drive away.
