Moela Safari Lodge
Moela Safari Lodge stands on the high bank of the Boteti River inside Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, on a private seven-hundred-and-seventy-hectare concession. From the lodge, the ground drops to the Boteti River Valley, and during the seasonal migration thousands of zebra and wildebeest gather on the floodplain below. Each of the eight suites has a private wildlife-viewing deck placed to look directly down into the valley.
The lodge was built by local craftspeople using locally sourced materials. Rooms come in four configurations: a Luxury Double Suite with a king bed, en-suite bathroom and living area; a Standard Twin or Double Room with the same layout; a Standard Family Villa sleeping up to four across two rooms with two en-suite bathrooms; and a Luxury Family Villa sleeping up to six, with a king room, a twin or double room, a bunk bedroom, and two bathrooms. All rooms have mosquito nets and daily laundry.
Activities on the concession include game drives, night drives, guided walks, boating on the river in season, a game-viewing hide, and sleep-outs. Off the concession, the lodge runs trips to the Makgadikgadi salt pans, Nxai Pan, and cultural visits with San communities. The lodge also has a pool, spa, library, and bar. Khumaga village is the nearest settlement, and the lodge arranges airport transfers.
