Moremi Crossing

Set into a riverine forest of palms on an island facing Chief's Island, Moremi Crossing looks out over the Boro River from inside Gunn's Private Concession. The camp holds sixteen en suite tents raised on wooden decks, each with its own veranda and a private viewing deck over the water. It runs as a walking and water camp first. When flood levels allow, guides pole mokoro canoes through the lagoons and channels that thread the Delta here; when they drop, the same ground opens to seasonal game drives. Guided nature walks are a house strength, tracking on foot between termite mounds for a view over the floodplain that no vehicle gives you. Guests can also book an overnight camping trip further into the bush for two nights or more. A Family Tent pairs two en suite bedrooms under one roof, useful for groups, though children under six are not permitted and those aged six to twelve need a private vehicle. Meals are communal, and the camp keeps an eco-friendly footing with solar-heated outdoor showers in every tent. Wildlife here includes the Big Five, and birders come for the resident and migrant species along the river. It is a sociable, unfussy setup, built less for chasing luxury than for slowing to the pace of the water itself.
