Moremi Game Reserve - Khwai area

This is a five-night serviced mobile safari that runs from Maun into Moremi Game Reserve and the Khwai area. Light aircraft transfers carry you in from Maun at the start and return you at the end.

Moremi sits where the Okavango — an inland delta spreading across the Kalahari basin — meets dry land. The reserve moves between open floodplains, seasonal pans, papyrus lagoons, and dry woodland within a short distance, and that mix of wet and dry terrain supports a dense, varied concentration of wildlife and birds throughout the year.

The safari works on two tracks. Game drives cover drier ground and woodland edges where vehicles can follow roads and spoor. Mokoro excursions use dugout canoes, poled through shallow channels, to put you at water level among the delta's birds and riverine vegetation — a perspective the vehicles cannot reach.

Camp moves with you. A professional team erects and dismantles the tents at each location, prepares meals over fire, and handles all logistics. You sleep in walk-in Meru-style canvas tents; each has its own bucket shower and a bush toilet set apart from the sleeping area. A camp assistant is on hand throughout.

Departures are capped at twelve guests across two vehicles. The full departure can also be booked as a private trip for families or other groups wanting exclusive use of the vehicles and camp.
