Morrumbene Beach Resort

Morrumbene Beach Resort sits directly on the beach in Inhambane Province, on a stretch of coast where the Indian Ocean is warm enough to swim year-round. The resort runs three sizes of self-catering chalet — three, four, and five bedrooms — each with cooking facilities, a fridge, fan, mosquito nets, and a verandah or deck. The three-bedroom chalet has one en-suite bathroom; the four- and five-bedroom options have two each, which makes them practical for larger groups or families.

The property has a pool, a licensed restaurant, and a bar. Meals are also available on request. Secure parking is on site, and an airport shuttle can be arranged.

On the water, the resort offers canoeing, fishing, and scuba diving directly from the property. From here you can also arrange boat cruises, deep-sea fishing, quad biking, surfing, and horse riding. One of the more distinctive local trips is the dhow crossing between Maxixe and Inhambane — a short crossing that puts you into the town centre, where you can walk the market and the older Portuguese-era streets. Tuk-tuks are available for getting around once you arrive.

The nearest town, Inhambane, is across the bay. The resort is in Morrumbene, which sits on the peninsula south of the city.
