Muddy Teak

Muddy Teak holds four tents and takes one group at a time. Every tent, and the main lounge and dining area, looks directly onto the natural waterhole that gives the camp its name — a muddy depression under teak and ordeal trees where elephant, sable, giraffe, impala, and a resident lion pride drink, particularly during the dry season. The main area opens onto a wide deck from which you watch the waterhole without moving far.

Three of the four tents are standard rooms, set on raised decks in the tree shade and sized to feel generous. The fourth is a family tent: two separate en-suite rooms linked under cover on the same deck, one of them fitted for children. All beds are covered by mosquito nets and have overhead fans; geysers, fans, and lighting run on solar power.

Your group travels with a dedicated guide and private vehicle throughout your stay. Activities run from the Camp Hwange concession and include game drives and night drives in open four-wheel-drive vehicles, guided walking safaris with a tracker and professional guide, and observation from logpile hides positioned close to wildlife. Rhino tracking and birding are also offered. On the way in or out through Victoria Falls, the camp runs an optional visit to Lesedi Schools and Clinic in the village of Ntabayengwe nearby.

The camp operates on a private-use basis, so there are no other groups on site during your stay.
