Munyamadzi occupies eighteen thousand five hundred hectares of private, fully unfenced concession in Zambia's Luangwa Valley, flanked by two major national parks and running twenty kilometres along the Luangwa River. The camp faces the Bulonga Hills across the water, and all seven rooms are positioned to hold that view.

Accommodation divides into three types. Four en-suite luxury tents are arranged as twin or king double, each with its own river outlook. Two classic rondavels are built from locally baked brick with thatch roofs and heated by a donkey boiler — large windows let you watch the river from bed. The honeymoon suite is framed in salvaged mahogany with canvas panels and a fully open river-facing front; the hand-carved wooden basin in the bathroom was made on site. All rooms have mosquito nets, fans, and verandahs.

Rangers run game drives, night drives, guided walks, and sleep-outs. A resident ecologist and private anti-poaching scouts work the reserve year-round; guests can join them in the field, which gives the stay a different character from a standard circuit lodge. Birding across the concession is strong. Children of all ages are welcome.

You can self-drive to camp, arrange a road transfer for up to three adults, or fly into the reserve's own airstrip, two minutes from camp.
