Founded to showcase Uganda's indigenous bamboo as an alternative to timber, Murchison Falls Bamboo Village is East Africa's first bamboo-built lodge and sits a few hundred metres from Mubaku Gate of Murchison Falls National Park. Fourteen rooms occupy twenty acres of savannah five minutes from Paraa Bridge. Deluxe bamboo rooms offer double, twin, or triple configurations with imported mattresses, bamboo floors, private bathrooms, desks, and balconies overlooking the park. Savannah cottages hold double or twin beds and feature outdoor nature showers, hot and cold water, and balconies with lounge chairs facing the savannah. Family villas accommodate up to five adults across two rooms, with toilets on both levels and a family-sized balcony. All rooms carry Wi-Fi, twenty-four-hour electricity, and en-suite bathrooms. The property operates a pool and an elevated viewing platform for sunset observation. Breakfast is served each morning; full-board meal plans are available. The lodge arranges car hire, guided game drives, river cruise bookings, and driver accommodation. The project aligns with Uganda's National Bamboo Strategy, ratified in 2019, and aims to reduce reliance on timber for building and firewood. Free parking is provided.
