Nairobi Tented Camp

Set within indigenous woodland in Nairobi's Karen suburb, Nairobi Tented Camp is nine tented suites beneath a canopy of tall trees. Each suite holds a twin or double bed, wardrobe, writing desk, and chairs on a private veranda. En-suite facilities include a running shower, basin, and toilet. LED lighting runs on solar panels and rechargeable batteries; candles and lanterns light the dining areas after dark. The central mess tent holds a bar stocked with cold drinks.

Breakfast is served under the trees each morning. Lunches and dinners follow a set menu and are prepared on-site. The camp stands a short drive from Nairobi National Park, where guests book private game drives to see lion, rhino, giraffe, and zebra against the city skyline. Visits to the Giraffe Centre and the elephant orphanage can be arranged through the camp. Bush babies, tree hyraxes, and colobus monkeys move through the forest canopy above the tents. Birdlife is audible from the verandas. The camp offers vegetarian meals and complimentary internet access. Laundry service is available on request.
