Founded in 1996 as part of Gondwana Collection Namibia, Namushasha River Lodge stands on the bank of the Kwando River 24 kilometres south of Kongola on the C49 road in the Zambezi Region. The lodge holds 24 rooms beneath riverbank trees: 20 twin, one triple, and three family units with interleading doors. Each room is fitted with mosquito nets, an en-suite shower, air-conditioning, and a private porch facing the river or surrounding woodland.

The central lodge features a high thatched dining room open to the river, a bar, and a cold-water pool. A curio shop and secure parking sit within the main compound. Boat cruises depart in early morning and late afternoon to explore the Kwando channels and waterways; refreshments and light snacks are included. Guided drives into Bwabwata National Park begin with a boat transfer along the river followed by a vehicle journey into the reserve, where elephant, Cape buffalo, hippo, roan antelope, tsessebe, zebra, wildebeer, and predators such as lion and leopard move through the woodland and floodplains. Fishing trips target catfish, tilapia, nembwe, and tigerfish; tackle and bait are supplied, and licences are available at the lodge.

Staff speak English and Afrikaans. Twenty-four-hour security and complimentary wireless internet are standard. The property underwent room refurbishment in 2024; main guest areas are scheduled for renovation in early 2026.
