Namushasha River Lodge Gondwana Collection Namibia

Thatched roofs and open walls frame the Kwando River at Namushasha River Lodge. Twenty-four rooms line the leafy bank; each holds twin or triple beds, mosquito nets, an en-suite shower, air-conditioning, and a veranda. A family unit contains two bedrooms sharing one bathroom. The dining room opens to the river on all sides beneath a high thatch; a pool and bar sit among the trees.

Morning and afternoon boat cruises thread through channels, tracking birdlife and crocodile. Fishing trips target tigerfish, catfish, and tilapia from guided boats; tackle and bait are included. Guided drives into Bwabwata National Park depart after a short boat transfer, tracking elephant, Cape buffalo, sable antelope, and lion through the concession. You can hear vervet monkeys in the canopy at first light.

The lodge lies twenty-four kilometres south of Kongola on the C49 in the Zambezi Region. Between September and December low water limits or suspends boat access to the channels. Staff arrange laundry, secure parking, and fishing licences through the activity desk.
