Ndomo House

Ndomo House occupies the south-western corner of Likoma Island and is taken by a single group at a time. The building was constructed around the boulders of a rocky hillside, so rough rock walls run alongside smooth-plastered rooms that follow the hill's contours. Furniture and fittings draw on the craft traditions of Zanzibar and Lamu Island, with African antiques and contemporary pieces made at Katundu Workshop.

Four bedrooms sleep eight guests. Three have their own bathrooms; the fourth has a bathroom directly outside the door. The interior holds a large living room with a deck, a kitchen, a dining area, a study, and a media room. Outside, three terraces and a courtyard face the lake. A plunge pool sits within the grounds, and a dedicated beach below the house is for guests only. A barbecue area serves outdoor meals.

Activities on and around the island include kayaking, canoeing, sailing, scuba diving, kite surfing, catch-and-release fishing, cycling, and self-guided walks. Cultural tours and boat cruises on the lake can also be arranged. A complimentary airport shuttle connects the house to Likoma's airstrip.
