Ngare Serian
Part of Phasec create
Ngare Serian sits on the bank of the Mara River inside the Mara North Conservancy, reached by a narrow rope bridge from the main path. The name means 'by the river' in Maa, and the water is the constant — hippos pool below the open bathrooms, and the river sounds carry into every tent.
The camp holds four marquee tents, spaced along the riverbank. Each has a Zanzibar four-poster bed, an open bathroom, and a bathtub set into the veranda decking with a direct view of the water. Cotton linen, mosquito nets, dressing gowns, and a lounge area are standard. Because the camp takes at most four groups, it suits families and small parties who want a camp to themselves.
Each group has a dedicated guide and spotter with a private open vehicle — no shared schedules, no waiting on other guests. The conservancy also covers one thousand five hundred acres of land exclusive to Serian, where night drives, catch-and-release fishing on the river, and guided walks are all possible. Walking here means reading spoor, tracking through grass, and covering ground at a pace that a vehicle cannot match.
A short walk from camp is The Nest, a treehouse used for picnics and sleep-outs. The kitchen draws on an organic garden managed by the camp's Mara team, using herbs, fruit, vegetables, and honey produced on site. Hot air balloon flights over the Mara plains depart from the camp in the early morning.
