Ngorongoro expedition camp

This is a walking safari camp with no fixed location. Run by Wayo Africa, it relocates each day or every second day as your group treks through the Serengeti and other national parks in Tanzania, with the route and pace set around the group. Over a trek of three to fourteen days, it is unusual to encounter another vehicle or another party — the areas the camp reaches are genuinely remote.

A dedicated crew travels with you: guides, trackers, chefs, and waiters who break camp each morning and have it rebuilt by the time you arrive at the next site. Meals are cooked in the field; evenings are spent around the fire.

The tents are designed in-house by Wayo Africa — a gauze cocoon fitted with a fly sheet for rain. Beds are expeditionary roll-mat pods, padded and made up with Egyptian cotton linen. The design keeps weight low enough to move on a daily basis while keeping the sleeping arrangements comfortable.

The camp operates across a range of national parks, not only the Serengeti, with the itinerary built around the group. There is no fixed programme: the route, the pace, and the parks are chosen before departure and adjusted in the field as conditions require. The camp carries no fixed electricity supply, and mobile connectivity is not part of the offer.
