Nkhotakota Pottery Lodge
Nkhotakota Pottery Lodge sits on a stretch of clean sandy beach — over two hundred metres of it — on the shore of Lake Malawi in Nkhotakota, on the M5 road. The accommodation runs across several categories: four standard rooms and six superior rooms, plus three further rooms with shared facilities at lower rates. A dorm sleeps six. For those who prefer to camp, the campsite has its own beach frontage, a car park, tiled hot showers, toilets, and a kitchen shelter. Safari tents with camp beds are available to hire.
The restaurant operates in multiple areas — some indoors, some outside — all facing the lake. You eat with the water in front of you, which is the main point of being here.
The lodge also handles larger gatherings. A conference room seats up to thirty-five people; a conference hall accommodates up to two hundred and can be divided into smaller sections. The garden, spacious enough for a hundred guests, is used for conferences, garden parties, and weddings.
Nkhotakota is on Malawi's central lakeshore, and the M5 road runs through town, making the lodge straightforward to reach by road from both Lilongwe to the south-west and Mzuzu to the north.
