Mountain Gorilla Trekking
Trek Bwindi's forest to find wild mountain gorillas
Skip to product information
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest shelters more than half the world's mountain gorillas, tracked here across several habituated family groups. Groups of up to eight visitors, guided by park rangers, follow a gorilla family through steep, densely vegetated terrain at high altitude, with an hour permitted at close range once the group is located. Permits cost 700 US dollars, or 1,500 US dollars for the four-hour Gorilla Habituation Experience with a research group. The minimum age is fifteen, and a reasonable level of fitness is needed given the terrain. Nkuringo Gorilla Lodge sits near the trailhead in Bwindi.
