Game drive
Open-vehicle safaris into South Luangwa's untamed riverine bush
Skip to product information
Drives head out from Nkwali Camp directly into South Luangwa National Park, reached across the river by boat or pontoon rather than a public gate. The camp's own private game-viewing area, on Robin Pope Safaris' land behind camp, extends the ground before guests even cross into the park. Leopards are regularly seen along the riverbank near camp, and elephants often come down to drink at the lagoon. Guides work the valley's network of tracks by vehicle, covering ground on foot walks cannot, with night drives extending the day into after-dark sightings. The terrain is remote, and largely undeveloped.
