Nomad Beach Resort

Nomad Beach Resort sits on Diani Beach on Kenya's south coast, with twenty-six acres of indigenous coastal forest behind it and the Indian Ocean in front. The resort holds thirty-nine rooms and suites — garden rooms with Lamu ceilings, beach cottages under palm-thatch makuti roofs, and ocean-view suites with private verandas and sunbeds facing the water — plus four private villas, three of them directly on the beach. Villa guests have their own pools, personal waiter service, and full access to resort facilities.

On the water, Diving the Crab — a PADI dive centre based at the resort — runs courses from beginner level through to experienced diver, with junior courses for children. Non-motorised watersports including kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding are included in the stay. The resort can also arrange dolphin spotting trips, deep-sea fishing, and dhow rides.

The Forest Breeze Spa occupies individual round huts within the forest, each with earthy interiors and treatments using locally made organic products. Massages, facials, couples treatments, and beauty services are all available. A yoga platform handles personal sessions on request.

Three restaurants cover the main beachside menu, a pool-side bar and grill, and a wood-fired pizza option. The kitchen draws produce from the resort's own farm. A temperature-controlled wine cellar hosts private dining and regular tasting events. Once a month, the beach restaurant sets tables on the sand for a full-moon dinner.

The on-site Diani Turtle Watch Centre runs a sea turtle hatchery on the beach and a Marine Education Center with a resident marine biologist. The resort holds a Travelife Gold Award for sustainability and has held it since 2005.
