Old Drift Lodge

Old Drift Lodge sits on the bank of the Zambezi River inside Zambezi National Park, four and a half kilometres from Victoria Falls town. The park covers fifty-six thousand hectares, and the lodge is set far enough into it that elephant drink from the plunge pools outside the suites. Victoria Falls is close enough to visit on a guided tour included in the nightly rate, with park fees paid separately at the gate.

The lodge holds fourteen canvas suites: ten double suites and four family suites, all set along the riverbank. Each suite has high ceilings, glass sliding doors that open onto a deck, a four-poster king or twin beds, an en-suite bathroom, an outdoor shower, a private plunge pool, and a claw-footed outdoor bathtub. The family suites have two interleading bedrooms, each with its own entrance and bathroom, so children and parents have separate space. Three of the standard suites have star beds — four-poster beds on an elevated platform over the river, used for sleeping out under open sky.

The main lodge faces north onto the Zambezi and south onto a waterhole. Activities run morning and afternoon: game drives in open four-wheel-drive vehicles through the park, river safaris on two ten-seat pontoon boats, and guided walking safaris along the river and through the park's spring lines. Children under sixteen are not permitted on walking safaris. Off-site, the lodge can arrange scenic flights, canoeing, horse riding, and rhino tracking.

A complimentary airport shuttle connects the lodge to Victoria Falls Airport.
