Onguma Tamboti Campsite

Pitching camp within sight of a waterhole, guests unpack onto sites shaded by tamboti and leadwood. Onguma Tamboti Campsite holds twenty-five sites within a fenced perimeter on the thirty-five-thousand-hectare Onguma Nature Reserve, five hundred metres from Etosha National Park's Von Lindequist gate. Each site is screened by vegetation and equipped with a fireplace, power socket, covered washing-up counter, and a private ablution block that contains a shower, toilet, and basin. Sites are serviced daily. The main building overlooks a waterhole where game moves through morning and evening. A restaurant serves meals at communal tables; a veranda wraps the building and faces the water. The pool sits at the edge of the clearing with views into the reserve. A supply store stocks cooler-box provisions, firewood, and charging cables. Complimentary wireless internet is available in the main area. Guests may self-drive into Etosha or book a guided game drive with an Onguma ranger into the park. Walking safaris on the reserve depart at dawn with an armed guide. The Onkolo photographic hide sits at water level and is reached on foot; benches and open windows allow low-angle sightlines across the pan. Bush dinners at the Boma or the Kraal include transport, a three-course fire-cooked meal, and a welcome drink on arrival. Onguma has been a registered Black Rhino Custodian since 2003; a portion of each stay funds the twenty-four-hour anti-poaching unit and habitat-restoration work across the reserve.
