Preskil Island Resort

Preskil Island Resort stands on Pointe Jérôme, a peninsula between the southeast lagoon and Lion Mountain, in the village of Mahebourg — fifteen minutes from the airport and facing the protected nature reserve of Île aux Aigrettes across the water.

The lagoon here is the largest on the island and sheltered enough for watersports at most skill levels. On the beach, the Specialised Kiteboarding school takes beginners through to kitefoil and wingfoil. The resort's PADI five-star dive centre runs scuba trips into the reef. Catamaran excursions reach Île aux Aigrettes, Île de la Passe, and Île aux Fouquets. For something quieter, the resort offers a breakfast served on a traditional pirogue out on the lagoon, stopping near Île aux Aigrettes for a swim.

The Banyan Spa covers seven hundred and twenty square metres and holds eight treatment rooms — one with a jacuzzi — plus a sauna, hammam, and a double Vichy shower cabin. Treatments draw on local ingredients: curry leaf scrubs, moringa body treatments, and frangipane oil massages.

Families are well provided for. The Tikoulou Kids Club takes children from three to twelve years old through music, dance, art, traditional games, and boat outings. A separate baby club is set up for children up to thirty-six months.

The Mosaïc restaurant looks out over Mahebourg Bay. Mahebourg itself — a short walk or cycle from the resort — has a covered market, street food stalls, the Naval Museum, and the Frederik Hendrik Museum.
