Boat Safari
Lake Kariba's shoreline wildlife, viewed slowly from water
Skip to product information
Rhino Safari Camp sits on Lake Kariba's edge within Matusadona National Park, and its boat safari follows that shoreline at an easy pace. Elephants often wade in to drink or cool off, hippos surface nearby, and crocodiles stretch out on the banks in the sun. Birdlife is constant along the water, with fish eagles and kingfishers among the regulars. Run at sunrise or sunset, the outing suits photography and quiet watching in equal measure, and gives a different vantage point on the bush than a vehicle allows. Guests stay seated in the boat throughout, close enough to observe without disturbing.
