Walking Safari

Walking safaris at Rhino Safari Camp put guests on the ground within the Matusadona National Park, where an unfenced concession lets wildlife move freely along the Lake Kariba shoreline. Armed, experienced guides lead the way, reading tracks and signs and explaining the plants and animals encountered along the route. It is a slower, closer method of exploring the bush than a vehicle allows, suited to spotting smaller detail: prints in the sand, birdlife, browse lines on trees. Elephant, antelope, lion and leopard all range through the area, so guides set the pace and keep a careful distance.
