Riad Al Mamoune

Filled with traditional Moroccan decoration, the interior of Riad Al Mamoune runs to carved plasterwork and tiled surfaces typical of the medina's old houses, gathered around a courtyard and rooftop terrace. Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms; some are fitted with satellite television and a fireplace. It is a compact stay, built for wandering out rather than staying in. The riad sits in the medina's busiest quarter, a few minutes' walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa square and close enough to the Koutoubia Mosque to reach on foot. Marrakesh train station is a short drive away. Excursions further afield, into the Atlas Mountains, the Agafay desert or the Ourika valley, can be arranged directly through the riad, with cash settled at check-out. The address itself, tucked down a quiet derb off the medina's main circuits, keeps the noise of the square at a comfortable distance.
