The Duchess’s Room

Named for the Duchess pool on the Tongariro River, a stretch made famous by anglers fishing River Birches's home water. The room looks onto a private garden setting from both bedroom and bathroom, and catches the morning sun. Inside: underfloor heating, air conditioning, a lounge area, cooking facilities, tea and coffee, and an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. Dressing gowns and satellite television are provided, along with complimentary Wi-Fi and a balcony or deck. It shares its appointments and facilities with the Major's Room, its counterpart named after another storied Tongariro fishing pool.
