River View Lodge

River View Lodge sits directly on the bank of the Chobe River in Kazungula, on the northern edge of Botswana where Zambia, Zimbabwe and Namibia meet within a few kilometres. The lodge holds twelve rooms and chalets spread through gardens that run down to the river, plus a private home that can be booked as a self-contained unit with its own deck over the water.

The on-site restaurant uses locally sourced, seasonal ingredients to prepare international and local dishes. Breakfast and safari tea are included for lodge guests; a three-course dinner can be pre-booked each evening, with a meat and a vegetarian option offered nightly. Special dietary requirements are accommodated with advance notice. The bar, dining area, lounge and pool all face the Chobe River.

Room types range from twin rooms in a block — each with a private veranda looking onto a lawned courtyard — to free-standing double chalets and deluxe chalets with direct river views, and family chalets sleeping three or four. All rooms have air conditioning, a ceiling fan, mosquito nets, and a tea and coffee station.

Chobe National Park, which holds one of the largest elephant populations on the continent, begins close to the property. Three-hour morning game drives and three-hour afternoon boat cruises on the Chobe River are bookable from the lodge. Victoria Falls is roughly an hour's drive away. Guided walks through the nearby village of Kazungula and tours to Impalila Island give access to the local Basubia and Tswana communities. The lodge also arranges fishing, cycling, and helicopter scenic flights.
