Schouten Island Experience

Saffire's purpose-built vessel carries guests out to Schouten Island, tracking a coastline where sea birds and Australian fur seals gather. Along the way the boat passes sites of cultural significance to past and present inhabitants of the area, with the crew pointing out marine mammals and other wildlife as they appear. Morning tea, prepared by Saffire's chefs, is served during the outing. It is a slower way to see the Freycinet coast, from the water rather than the trail, with the island itself as the destination.
