Sandfontein Lodge & Nature Reserve

Sandfontein is a private nature reserve in Namibia's Karas region, reached by light aircraft — the landing strip sits within the reserve. The landscape is rocky savannah with mountain ridges and river views across the Sandfontein Valley.

The lodge holds five thatched bungalows and one suite, each built with locally sourced materials. All bungalows face east and have an en-suite bathroom, fridge, heating, dressing gowns, and cotton linen; the suite adds a burnished bathtub that looks directly over the valley, plus an outdoor shower. The bungalows are spaced apart from one another on the reserve. Africology products are supplied in all rooms.

Activities run on the reserve and in the surrounding area: game drives, night drives, guided and self-guided walks, wildlife tours, bird watching, horse riding, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and massages. A pool sits beside the main lodge building, which has a bar with views of the surrounding hills.

Property facilities include complimentary Wi-Fi, laundry service, secure parking, and a spa. The lodge sits in the Karas region of southern Namibia; access is most practical by light aircraft given the distance from major roads.
