Sava Dunes
Part of Phasec create
Sava Dunes sits on sand dunes at Miramar, on the Inhambane coast between Barra and Tofo, with the beach a few metres from the front door. The lodge runs entirely on solar power and has no grid connection. There are five ocean-facing cottages and one garden-view family chalet — six units in total, which keeps the property quiet.
Each ocean cottage has a private deck with a hammock, a swinging chair, and a seating area, positioned to face the coastline. Beds have mosquito nets. The garden chalet sits lower on the property, overlooking the lodge gardens rather than the water, and suits a family or a small group travelling together. All guests eat at a communal dining area, and there is a bar, a pool deck, and a library.
The water in front of the lodge is warm and carries a wave suitable for bodyboarding and surfing. The wider Inhambane coast is an active marine area: whale sharks and humpback whales move through in season, and bottlenose dolphins are spotted regularly. Off-site activities include scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, kayaking, and boating, all accessible from the beach. An airport shuttle is available on request.
The property accepts credit cards and offers complimentary internet access. Staff speak English, Portuguese, and Afrikaans.
