Serengeti River Camp stands about 300 metres from the Mara River in Tanzania's Mara Region, close enough to watch wildebeest arrive at the bank before they commit to crossing. From June to October, the great migration moves through this stretch: herds build on the plains, test the water, then push across in numbers — with crocodiles waiting in the river and lions holding back on the far grass. The camp is placed to put you at the edge of that cycle without travelling far to find it.

Accommodation is in permanent canvas-walled tented suites, each with a private balcony that looks out over the surrounding land. The canvas construction keeps the camp light on the ground while giving guests a direct sense of what is outside — sound carries through tent walls in a way it does not through brick. In the evenings, dining moves outside under open sky.

The camp operates year-round. The migration is the draw from June to October, but resident wildlife — lion, crocodile, and the animals that stay in the Mara Region through the dry and green seasons — is present throughout the year. The Mara River itself is a permanent feature; the crossing is seasonal, but the river and its banks remain active with wildlife well outside migration months.
