Serian's Nkorombo
Serian's Nkorombo is a mobile tented camp on a private site beside the Mara River inside the Masai Mara Reserve. It holds five tents, sits among wild olive and orange croton trees, and backs onto a salt lick that draws black rhino, lion, and leopard. Hippo and crocodile are a steady presence in the river below.
The camp is thoroughly canvas — Selous-style tents furnished with leather, weathered wood, and cotton, with en suite bathrooms that have flush toilets and bucket showers. Verandahs look out over the river. Laundry is complimentary, and a private vehicle is available throughout your stay.
Game drives run with a dedicated vehicle, guide, and spotter assigned to your group alone, so you follow the animals rather than a fixed schedule. The same arrangement covers activity both inside and around the reserve. High tea, communal dining, and campfire meals round out the days; the dining setup is communal, and vegetarian options are available at the table.
The camp is part of Alex Walker's Serian, which also operates the fixed camps Serian and Ngare Serian nearby. Nkorombo is the most traditional of the three in feel — fully mobile, lighter on the land, and built to be moved with the seasons if the wildlife demands it.
