Serian's Serengeti Lamai

Serian's Serengeti Lamai sits in the Lamai Wedge at the northern end of the Serengeti, directly opposite Crossing Point 4 — one of the main points where wildebeest enter the river during the annual migration. The camp sits midway along the river's crossing points, which means you are well placed for whatever direction the herds are moving.

Away from the river, the landscape shifts to rolling savannah interrupted by rocky outcrops and groves of fig trees, carrying large concentrations of wildebeest, topi and zebra alongside the lion, cheetah and elephant that follow them. The Big Five have been seen here within a single day.

The camp holds ten tents arranged in three wings, each tent set on a teak deck. Inside: wrought-iron beds, Moroccan rugs, en suite bathrooms with both indoor and outdoor showers, flushing toilets, and dressing gowns. Two tented suites each connect a pair of separate sleeping tents through a shared living space — useful for families who want proximity without sharing a room. Kidimbwe, a private camp within the Lamai concession, is available for those wanting full seclusion.

Each group travels in its own open vehicle with a dedicated guide and spotter, on no fixed schedule. Walking safaris and flycamping — nights in lightweight tents under a flysheet, reached on foot — are both on offer. Dining is communal, around a fire after a day in the field.

The camp can be taken on an exclusive basis by a single group or party.
