Shangri-La Hotel Paris

The Shangri-La Paris occupies the former private palace of Prince Roland Bonaparte, grandnephew of Napoleon, on the right bank of the Seine facing the Eiffel Tower. The nineteenth-century building has been restored and converted into a hotel, and the rooms that face the river look directly at the tower and the water below.

The hotel runs three restaurants. L'Abeille is a French gastronomic restaurant that holds one Michelin star. Shang Palace serves Cantonese cuisine and also holds one Michelin star — it was the first Shang Palace to open in Europe. La Bauhinia is a lighter, all-day dining room built under a glass cupola with a Murano chandelier overhead. Le Bar is the hotel's main bar, and its signature cocktail is called the Pink Lady.

The building retains significant period detail: the craftsmanship of the original interiors — woodwork, decoration, proportions — is visible throughout the public spaces and guest rooms. Staff carry out check-in from the room rather than a public desk, which keeps arrivals quiet.

The hotel sits in the 16th arrondissement, a short walk from the Trocadéro and the Seine, in one of the quieter residential quarters of central Paris.
