Shearwater Victoria Falls Zambezi Spectacular Helicopter Experience

This helicopter flight runs for approximately twenty-five to twenty-seven minutes and covers three distinct stretches of the Zambezi River and its surroundings, departing from Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.

The first section follows the route known as the Flight of Angels, passing over the falls themselves. Here the Zambezi arrives one and a half kilometres wide before dropping one hundred and twenty metres into the gorge below — a drop you see in full from above, with spray rising from the base.

The flight then continues downstream over the Batoka Gorges, where the river is compressed from that wide approach into a granite gorge just forty metres across. The change in the water is immediate and visible: the broad, slow river becomes fast and turbulent as the walls close in. Following the gorge from above gives a clear sense of the scale and the geology that drives it.

The final section turns over Zambezi National Park for a game-spotting pass. Elephant, buffalo, hippo, giraffe, lion and crocodile all live in the park, and the open terrain means animals are often visible to a helicopter when they would be hidden from a vehicle on the ground. Sightings depend on where the animals are on the day.
