Sheraton Hotel Luxor
Fifteen room categories face the Nile across eight acres of garden in Luxor
The Steigenberger Resort Achti is set on the east bank of the Nile in Luxor, eleven kilometres from the airport. Eight acres of garden separate the hotel from the road noise of the city centre, though the centre itself is a short drive away. Fifteen room categories run from 23 m² classic rooms with city views to a 150 m² Royal Suite with its own kitchenette and Nile-facing terrace. Deluxe rooms add a sitting area and a 12.5 m² terrace over the river and pool. Two heated outdoor pools include a waterfall and a whirlpool, and a separate pool is set aside for children. A jogging track, croquet lawn, and volleyball court fill the grounds between the flowerbeds. A dock at the water's edge lets guests board a felucca directly from the property, and the Valley of the Kings lies across the river for those setting out early. Restaurants on site serve international, vegetarian, and vegan menus, and meeting rooms hold up to 150 delegates. Wi-Fi runs free throughout. Check-in is from 3pm. The rooms keep a traditional decor rather than a stark modern finish, but the setting does the work: balconies over the water catch the sunrise before the day's heat sets in.
