Boat Excursions

Shinde's position in a permanent stretch of the Okavango Delta means water outings run year-round, unlike camps dependent on seasonal flooding. Guests board a motorboat to cover more ground than a mokoro allows, moving through clear channels, lagoons and papyrus-lined waterways. The pace suits birdwatching, with the chance to spot herons, kingfishers and fish eagles along the banks, plus water lilies, reptiles and the odd hippo or crocodile. It pairs naturally with the camp's other water-based activity, the traditional mokoro excursion, giving guests two different ways to see the same channels from the water.
